Now in its third generation, Arch Street Lighting got its start in 1914 when Harry Horn inherited his uncle’s gas mantle store on South Street in Philadelphia.
The switch was soon made from gas to electric and the store became Harry Horn Electric Supply.
After decades of being the best-known electrical supply store in the city, owner Michael Kurland (Horn’s grandson) remade his business and in 1996 opened Arch Street Lighting, an upscale lighting showroom in the Old City section of Philadelphia.

Mike Kurland
Mike is the technical guy. He enjoys a good joke and bringing old lamps back to life.
Peggy Coleman
Peggy is the glue of the store. She holds everything together. You can always find her on her day off spending time with her grandchildren.
Neil Einleger
Neil our lighting expert. Can answer any question about any Broadway show when he is not picking out the perfect fixture for your space.
